BACKGROUND
The Chinese Centre (North of England) is a registered charity (reg. no. 1093920)
and its mission is to promote social inclusion, equality and diversity. The
Chinese ICT Open Learning Centre was founded by the Chinese Centre and was
officially opened on 2nd February 2003. The centre was supported by the New
Opportunities fund, the European Social Fund, the Department of Education
and Skills and Newcastle City Council and is currently funded by the University
for Industry for delivering Learndirect, UKonline and Train to Gain.
AWARDS
The Outstanding Adult Learning Provider in the North East (Ofsted -
17 October 2007)
National winner of the Most innovative Learndirect Centre Award (15 October
2007)
Received a total of 11 Regional and National Awards since Feb 2003.
